He moved in a way that many aspire to achieve, but couldn’t digest his lunch properly …
It was time for a step in a new direction with his physical training.
When I began working with Daniel Spencer from Dynamic Movement Solutions he could already move pretty well.
- He could perform inspiring handstands,
- He could do the splits,
- And was pretty strong on the gymnastic rings.
But amidst all of this physical prowess, something deep inside was out of balance …
His body was in a state of holding tension from stress and repressed emotions, which contributed to poor digestion and his posture being pulled out of alignment.
Moving beneath the surface to rebalance the physical training equation
On the surface it seemed like Daniel had a pretty balanced way to train his body.
His previous training consisted of:
While the parts of Daniel’s movement practice can all be excellent ways to train the body, his main intention was focused around external skills.
External Skills: improving the function of the systems that are more noticeable on the outside of your body – The way your muscles work and your ability to perform certain movement patterns.
But Daniel realised that the internal physical challenges (posture + digestion) he was experiencing weren’t something that could be addressed by primarily focusing on the external elements of physical training.
He needed to re-balance the physical training equation, by improving his internal skills.
Integrating internal skills, for more nourishing physical training
From my experiences; a well rounded physical training program isn’t just about improving what’s happening on the outside of the body.
If you truly desire to nourish your body inside and out, so you can; not only move better on the outside, but also function better on the inside …
I highly recommend you dedicate some time in your physical training to improve your internal skills.
Internal Skills: improving the kinaesthetic awareness, function and unity of the systems deep inside your body and mind.
Here’s some examples:
- Being able to consciously feel and open / close every joint in your body, and control the way tension is distributed through the fascia system,
- Unifying the mind / body / breath to function as one integrated unit,
- Improving the way your internal fluids circulate and the efficiency of your nervous system.
To help Daniel improve his internal skills to support his external skills, and deeply nourish his body, I invited him to become part of the Tension Release Technique: Online Training Program.
Watch this 5 Minute Video about Daniel’s journey
After only a few months on the T.R.T program Daniel has improved his body dramatically.
Here’s the painful truth: I spent the first 20 years of my life focusing primarily on external physical skills and really put my body out of balance. I ended up suffering a debilitating spinal injury, and feeling tense all the time.
But now I know there’s a better way. A kinder, gentler way to do your physical training, nourish your insides, and prepare your for longevity, not tension and injuries.
That’s the kind of physical training we teach inside our Tension Release Technique program. To learn more about it, click the button below.
